Green power is the term used to describe renewable sources of energy that are environmentally friendly and non-polluting, such as run-of-the-river. Green energy sources are so named because they lower carbon emissions, create less pollution, reduce the environmental impact of conventional electricity generation and increase energy independence.
Our commitment to the environment is integral to our Company strategy. As more and more people become concerned about hydropower’s contribution to global warming and other environmental issues arising from the construction of huge dams and the flooding of vast swathes of land, there is increased interest in run-of-the-river hydro-electricity generation. Installation of such systems has very little environmental impact.
We support and comply with all requirements stipulated by the Central Environment Authority (CEA) during construction, and constantly supervise activities carried out at our plants. Further, we continue to educate, train and make our employees aware of the importance of minimising adverse impact on our environment.
